Classical Pieces I Have Seen Performed- Rachmoninoff Piano Concerto #2
I ran sound at a local community college's theater, and the KC Symphony used to play up there, so I got the best seat in the house (dead center) in an acoustically sound performance hall with a good symphony playing. I made a list of all the major pieces they played while I ran sound and these posts are to document that. The below performance is Evgeny Kissin as the soloist, at the London Proms, Royal Albert Hall , London, August 2000. The conductor is Sir Andrew Davis.
Movement I
Movement II
Movement III
A link to Classical Notes discog of Rach2 recordings. And for fun, I found a recording of Rachmoninoff playing his own piece.
