Good articles on Recording Hip Hop and Rap Vocals
I like hip hop. I like rap. Rarely do you see those two lines used right after one another. I am just a cracker that listens to the club hits and the lyrics that dope MC's (or emcee's?) be lettin loose on your turntables, in your cars, and in girls room while babies be being made. There has been more joints put out under these two genre's in the last decade that were worth a shit than crackers have put out since Kurt Cobain blew his head off. I like the it when it is done right from a recording stand point, a street stand point, and a club stand point. On occasion, I get the luck to record some dudes that have lyrics, and I got beats. I ain't got money, but when I do, I will buy some gear mentioned in the follwing articles. Good Mics, Pre's, mixing boards, beats and lyricist/rappers/emcees. call your momma and get the money she owes you from walking tha street. It may be time to buy an Avalon.
